Independent laboratory testing commissioned by Multiply News found colourants and preservatives that did not appear on the ingredient labels of 11 packaged snack brands sold across four divisions.
Three of the brands exceeded permitted limits for synthetic dyes. Two manufacturers said the results were being reviewed; the rest did not respond to written questions.
